July 9th – August 31st, 2019
Artist Reception: Friday, August 9th, 6-8 PM
Bryant Street Gallery is proud to present Food, Florals, Toys & Tableaux an exhibition of new work from realist painter, James Zamora. Though his subject matter spans a great range, the intimate quality of his oil paintings and charcoal drawings routinely evoke serenity and nostalgia. Food, Florals, Toys & Tableaux will be on exhibit from July 9th to August 31st, 2019 at Bryant Street Gallery, 532 Bryant St, Palo Alto, CA with opening reception, Friday August 9th from 6-8 pm.
Texas born and based James Zamora embraces the everyday to spark his creativity. The glint of grape jelly, glittering sidewalk outside McNeill’s, and gilded illumination of a sunlit vase of flowers all serve as inspiration for Zamora’s work. Soft charcoal and broad brushstrokes provide impressionist views of bouquets. Tight, hyper-realistic oil paintings create portraits of snacks, scenes, and assorted sundries. Presented with Vermeer attention to the chiaroscuro, there is an old world quality to his here-and-now motifs.
Zamora paints the quiet places we often rush by, but you might find a moment to breathe if only you stop to smell the oil paint. Food, Florals, Toys & Tableaux will be on exhibit from July 9th to August 31st, 2019 at Bryant Street Gallery, 532 Bryant St, Palo Alto, CA. The artist will be in attendance of the opening reception, Friday August 9th from 6-8 pm.
